We are Biafrans by de facto national identity but still Nigerians by colonial political independence citizenship; however, BDFCG partakes in all legitimate endeavors for a common good.
The Parliament of BDFCG is currently deliberating on the ongoing debates on the bills for the creation of a Sixth State in the South East in the upper and lower chambers of the Nigeria National Assembly; though being read by attentive observers as a move to remedy longstanding Nigeria institutional discrimination against the South East zone.
BDFCG is aware of two separate bills presented by Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere for the proposed Orlu State and Senator Ned Nwoko for the proposed Anioma State respectively.
However, after careful examination of the short, medium, and long-term issues on discriminate States and local territorial population boundary partition,demarcations and adjustments, we humbly advocate for the bill on Anioma to be adopted and passed as the sixth state of South East Zone of Nigeria.
In light of this, we call upon all stakeholders to immediately engage and collaborate to gear support for the adoption and passing of the bill on Anioma State.
Supporting the creation of a sixth state in the South East aligns with BDFCG’s policies anchored in the tenets of rule of law and democracy.
